CESI

A digital business environment at the heart of the information system

CESI is a higher education and vocational training campus.Created by five major industrial companies (SNECMA, Renault, Télémécanique, Chausson and CEM) in 1958, Cesi (Centre des Études Supérieures Industrielles) is the teaching reference in the continuing education and Course alternation sector.

Cesi's activities are organized around four brands:

  • Ei.Cesia general engineering school
  • Exia.Cesian engineering school specializing in computer science
  • Cesi entreprisesa training organization supporting companies and employees in their professional development
  • Cesi Course alternationCourse alternation, a professional training program offered through its École supérieure des métiers.

Every year, the School trains over 20,000 engineers, managers, technicians and supervisors for nearly 6,000 companies.

Assignment needs

As part of its digital transformation, Cesi has defined several key strategic areas. The implementation of a digital business environment was at the heart of this transformation.

Cesi wanted to streamline communication, provide personalized support for learners and federate the community around a personalized bouquet of Services. The implementation of dematerialized procedures was one of the founding objectives of the project, speeding up the processing of requests between all Cesi players (administrative staff, learners, tutors, etc.).

For this project, Cesi required a robust, configurable and interoperable solution capable of integrating with the existing information system.

The idea was to offer a coherent package - a single tool, a single interface - for all those accessing the information system, including external profiles.

Vincent Millet,Director of Information Systems at CESI (2014-2020)

The project

In collaboration with Cesi, Kosmos developed Skolengo, a unique, contextualized solution for all users. The application can be used to communicate with all those involved in training: pilot, Teacher, learner, company tutor and employee.

The Skolengo ENT has been designed with responsive design to adapt to all mobile and tactile Practices. The application's ergonomics have been designed to facilitate access to the Services offered by Cesi.

A single sign-on (SSO) enables Users to access external applications such as Microsoft Office 365, LMS solutions like Moodle or CrossKnowledge, and Rosetta Stone, a language-learning solution, seamlessly within the interface. Skolengo also enables Users to access ERP business data: Timetable, Grades, Mailbox...

To facilitate access to Cesi's entire document base, an Electronic Document Management (EDM) solution has been implemented within the application. A powerful Search engine, based on elasticsearch, gives Users easy access to documents by filtering search results according to business criteria.

Kosmos broadened our vision of digital services and ENT by showing us that the Skolengo ENT was more than just a set of user-oriented business services.

Summary

Cesi's digital environment is the cornerstone of its digital transformation. Skolengo now unites the entire Cesi community. It offers a single, homogeneous interface, and provides a strong identity for the group.
Since its roll-out, Cesi has recorded over 2 million page views and already over 600,000 visits.

"The team was able to provide us with the necessary Educational counselling to make the right choices without altering the project. And above all, together we succeeded in federating all the players around a single tool."
