Marguerite Henry, School Principal at the Henri Judet secondary school in Boussac, County Creuse, has been using the Skolengo Timetable module since the start of the 2020 school year. Here, she gives us her feedback on how she got to grips with the module, and on the functionalities it offers for effective School management.

Easy, intuitive handling of the Skolengo Timetable

" Building a Timetable is easy with Skolengo". After half a day's general training, Marguerite Henry set about built her Timetable quickly.

I was afraid of change, but as I entered the data to build the Timetable, everything went smoothly. I was reassured. The Timetable is really intuitive and user-friendly. Compared with previous years, I saved a lot of time setting it up and entering the Services into School Information System-WEB.

A step-by-step guide to Timetable design

Skolengo's Timetable covers all the needs of a School principal for effectively manage a School.

The User is guided step-by-step through the Timetable design process. This highly flexible module enables School principals to adapt to the specific needs of their School (group management, unavailability of classes and teachers, etc.). To facilitate design, it features Dashboards providing an overview of courses placed and those yet to be placed. This feature often helps you to make the final decisions when it comes to placing courses or teachers.

I mainly use manual placement. I create all my Course(s) and then try to place them manually. It's really simple and visual. You enter all the Teacher's Course(s) and everything is automatically ranked in the Timetable. When I use automatic placement, I sometimes run into conflicts. I then manually reposition the Courses(s) to resolve the conflict. This solution is easy to use, and you don't have to be a computer genius to use it.

Design your Timetable step by step, and simply modify it throughout the year!

A flexible, day-to-day Timetable solution

The Timetable solution is consulted several times a day by both the School Manager and the CPE. It provides a wealth of information that is essential for steering tasks, such as teacher availability, class and timetable, where to find a teacher or a Student, etc..

Throughout the year, Schools welcome new Students and Teachers. It is therefore occasionally necessary to import the new School Information System File(s) into the Timetable.

As a School Manager, I'm very satisfied with Skolengo's Timetable import functions. It's a real asset for this timetable solution to be able to import and export data quickly and easily, without any bugs.

On a day-to-day basis, Ms Hemery, the School's CPE, also uses the Timetable to record absences and any changes to the timetable.
As the Timetable is integrated into the Skolengo ENT, I don't need to enter any new information in the attendance register or in the Attendance registers. All information is automatically transferred back to the ENT, facilitating synergies between the various Skolengo services.
