How to provide remote schooling on Skolengo?

The many features of Skolengo allow teachers to present their courses remotely when one or more students cannot come to class: hospitalised students, students practicing high level sport, imposed lock-down measures, etc. Skolengo thus maintains a link with the students providing educational continuity.

With the Teaching and Communication modules, Skolengo allows schools to perform their teaching remotely when the situations impose it.

Teaching binder: teaching activities and resources that can be consulted remotely

With the teaching binder, teachers can create activities using professional tools like the audio recorder, the exerciser, audio and video files, attached documents, free text, hypertext links, etc.
Skolengo also provides the possibility of organising activities into folders. Teachers can thus easily distribute their activities to students. The latter benefit from an identified location for quickly finding and consulting all the resources and activities sent by their teacher throughout the year. Teachers can also share their folders and activities with their colleagues.

EMS* digital organizer: putting work-to-do on-line and monitoring its online delivery

With the digital organizer, the teacher can give work-to-do to the students. They have a complete view of all the work created and can check the status of progress of the online delivery of each homework (number of homework assignments delivered and not-delivered). For each work-to-do, the teacher can produce a global corrected paper that they distribute to several classes or groups of students or an individual corrected paper per student. The teacher thus reinforces the individualized monitoring of students.

In the digital organizer, each student will automatically find the homework to deliver as well as a list of the next course and the associated work-load, in a summary table. This system allows them to organize themselves individually in the context of hybrid teaching.

The teacher can also ask the students for an online delivery of the work in different forms: by completing a text, using an audio recorder (tool integrated into Skolengo), or answering a quiz.

Other EMS services like the blog, the forum, the chat and the pad can also be used to communicate and to ensure teaching continuity when the courses must be given remotely.

Virtual class: a new service to provide hybrid teaching

Due to a high demand from our customers and users, the Skolengo teams in just a few weeks, have integrated and deployed a new videoconference service within Skolengo to assist them in setting up hybrid teaching. Directly accessible from the digital space, the solution allows virtual classes to be created in total security in just two clicks. Only people with a Skolengo EMS account can access the virtual class which avoids external disruptions. The service is hosted in Europe and follows the GDPR which guarantees the personal data of users.

Messaging service: maintaining a link between the school and families/teachers

The EMS messaging service allows users to communicate together on teaching practices, collaborative work, administrative and family related issues. If need be, families can, for example, contact one of the student’s teachers to discuss a particular point.
